A nomination committee was started with Mike Guisto as chairperson.  A sign up sheet was distributed for anyone interested in joining that committee.

Michael Ptak gave a park update.  The city promised a shovel would be in the ground by September 11,2008.  Then they said by the end of September early October.  The items still needed to be worked on were the Spray Pool,Basketball Court, Flag Pole, the installation of the bricks., widen and paving of the walkway, concrete sidewalk in the front, fencing in front and back as well as a new sign.   Ned brought up the fact that grubs are infesting our fields and that needs to be addressed.   Since we have funds enough to cover what we wanted, the East Mountain Golf Course inquired about some funds being set aside for the club house for rugs and furniture.  Barbara Stere questioned how the city knows we  have enough funds to cover the cost of the park.  After a motion was given by Mike Guisto and seconded by Ned Mencio , it was  decided to have a letter drafted by Patrick Norton to Jim Nemic addressing the park board relative to the funds. The general concensus was to see after the park was complete if no further funds are needed then we will see about giving some to the golf course.  There was also discussion about whether the funds could be released to the golf course since the funds came from grant money for a specific purpose.

Patrick Norton gave an update about the Condos on Hamilton Avenue.  Since we won the appeal, Mr. Gustafari did not file an appeal. Zoning has been changed so only single family homes can be built

Patrick Norton also gave an update about Sunrise Farms.  The good thing is that they are single family homes.  The only resistance is tha fact that the buffer zone is not as wide as we would like.  Currently it is in the hands of the commission.

Mike Ptak gave an update about the flags.  We took down the flags early due to the weather.  12 flags are needed to be purchased .  Most of them are in good shape.

Since Bob Perigard uses his truck for several tasks relative to the organization.  There was discussion about reimbursing him for gas in the amount of $ 50.00.  Turner Langdon made a motion we pay Bob for gas.  Donna Burnes seconded the motion. It was decided to pay Bob for gas.

Ned Mencio the chairperson of the Country Breakfast gave an update.  He would have to check with the church for November 1st 2008.  Before election time.  Last year our expenses were $ 435.60 and we received donations of $ 440.56.  Approxomately 130 people attended.  It was all profit money for our yearly events. It would be helpful to have as many tickets sold before the breakfast as possible to better gauge our purchases.

Ned Mencio also spoke about the success of our recognition dinner. We made a $ 400.00 profit without intending to make a profit.

There was discussion about donations for the Gaspari snow removal crew.  Anyone wanting to donate for that can see Jean Guisto treasurer.

Since there was no representative from the Police or Fire Department, Patrick Norton received a call from Joe Padua.  There was a female from PROSPECT knocking on doors to see if anyone was at home, then would go around to the back of the house and burglarize homes.  Be on the lookout for white minivan.

We are still in the market for someone who is computer savey to aid Tony with the update of the Web Page.  A bill was presented to Jean Guisto from Tony for the cost of the web $ 99.95.  June made a motion to pay Tony and Turner seconded the motion. It was decided to pay Tony for his expense incurred.

A brief discussion was held relative to new speakers.  Nezi brought up about Long Term Care Insurance.  Patrick Norton suggested someone else from law enforcement.  Ned Mencio suggested we have Phil Benevento speak about the history of Waterbury or someone from the Lever Center about Heart, Health and Nutrition.   Bob Trotter suggested we have someone speak about Economic Development in Waterbury.  Mike Stere recommended we have a speaker every other month. June suggested we have a suggestion box.

Erin Norton asked about street sign replacement.  Patrick called downtown to Dennis Quavis the traffic engineer.

Mike Ptak made a comment about storm drains.  Any drains that need to be fixed let us know and we can try to get them fixed.

Nancy Ptak distributed some sign up sheets relative to Hospitality, Country  Breakfast, and Nomination Committees.  Nancy also discussed the process for hospitality.  If you sign up for it please contact any other people assigned  for that meeting night.  It is much more convienent since we have a file cabinet for our paper goods and supplies.  Ned Mencio made a motion we purchase a coffee pot.  Mike Guisto seconded the motion.  Nancy Ptak will purchase a coffee pot.

Bob McGovern asked a question about all the Rocks being paved but there are some streets like Rockledge that has a very bad water problem has not been paved yet.  The department of public works would know when the specific roads are to be paved.

Another casino trip was briefly discussed. Perhaps that can be another fundraising idea in the near future if anyone would like to be the chairperson for that.

The meeting was ajorned by Mike Stere making a motion to ajorn and Ned Mencio seconded the motion.
