The Treasurer’s Report: Presented by Treasurer Jean Guisto, who reported a current balance of $7,495.06fwith $500 set aside for the scholarship, which leaves an actual balance of $6,995.06.  The recent membership drive resulted in dues paid: $1,850, $498 donations.  There are 104 new members due to the mailing, which cost $612.71.  It was decided to do a mailing again next August.

It was asked whether the money for the bricks was separate from the treasury money.  Jean respond that $2400 has been raised for the bricks and is separate.

The Community Officer’s report:  Officer Joe Padua stated that the recent city-wide drug raid resulted in 75 arrests.

GPS units have been stolen at the mall, one of the people nabbed was from Peach Orchard Road.

Everyone is advised to protect their houses and cars from break-ins.

Mike Ptak reported graffiti on all parts of the playground equipment as well as on the signs. Joe Padua was unaware of the incident; Mike stated that he left a message with a community officer.

Pat Norton reported that his sister’s van was stolen from the school’s parking area on Hamilton Ave.

Bob Mc Govern stated that he saw “The Seven Little Foys” at Seven Angels’ Theater and that it was an excellent show.  He said the new seating is much more comfortable.

Bob Perigard suggested that we should thank the Planning and Zoning Commission for all the work they’ve done over the years.  Mike approved of that, but reminded that there is still an appeal over the refusal to accept the condo proposal.

Bob also reported that there are new sidewalks being installed on upper Peach Orchard Rd.

Jean Guisto stated that there have been many comments of appreciation sent through the mail about the work the EMNA has done.

Elections were held at this evening’s meeting for President and Secretary, terms having expired for Mike Ptak and Pam Mencio.  Pat Norton is the new president and Nancy Ptak will be the new secretary.  Congratulations to Pat and Nancy.  The outgoing officers including Turner Langdon, former treasurer, will serve as executive board members. Bob Perigard thanked the outgoing officers for their work.

A raffle was held this evening, the prize was a portable DVD player donated by the Ptak’s; the winner was Nancy Ptak, who declined the prize.  Ceil Davino was the eventual winner.

Nancy Ptak requested that members who have a potential guest speaker in mind please bring their suggestion forward.  Bob Mc Govern said that he might have one.

Ned Mencio introduced new member, Brian Lawlor, a new neighbor on Purdy Road.  Brian’s driveway is actually a passage through to Pearl Lake Rd., site of a proposed development of single-family homes.  Brian was invited and did attend a Planning Zoning meeting, at which the project was again tabled.  There were, however, workers at Brian’s driveway after the meeting spray-painting on it, reason unknown.  Welcome, Brian—to East Mountain and to EMNA.

The box of supplies for the meeting refreshments will as of now be passed to the person(s) responsible for the next meeting refreshments

The Pastor of Our Lady of Lebanon Church has been in the hospital.  Efforts will be made to determine his correct name spelling and his address so a get- well message can be sent.

Respectfully submitted
