The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance led by our president Patrick Norton.

Our guest speaker was Lou Spina from the City of Waterbury Refuse Department.

He discussed the proper way to recycle products for pick up. We should be recycling newspapers, cardboard, glass and plastic bottles, cans and aluminum. Food and beverage containers should be rinsed out.
Those items that are not recyclable are: those items that are household hazardous products such as battaries, motor oil, and paint cans. These products can be dropped off three times a year at a designated location.
The cost for removal is $ 69.00 per ton we receive a $10.00 per ton credit.

Yard waste products and bulk pickup are picked up in every other Wednesday. You have a 5 item minimum. Or call for an appointment must be at the curb 24 hours before not earlier. Refer to the city website under public works and refuse or phone #203-574-6857 or#203-574-6803.

For replacement bins orange or blue please call the office. Fines are given for having more than one blue bin. Questions were raised about flipping bins so they do not fill up with rain or snow.
