We were
notified by the State and Federal IRS that we need to pay a fee. Michael Ptak
will review with Jean Guisto our bylaws and membership forms.
Generally
if we are under $10,000.00 we are listed as a 501C4 status and we need to pay
about $ 300.00 filing fee to the state and file a 99N form. Mike made a motion we spend the funds to the
state. Jean seconded the motion.
Tony
Loechner asked if the fee was an annual fee.
The fee as we understand it is an application fee. If the funds are over
$10,000.00 the cost is $750.00.
We have
274 members at this point. The question
was raised as to whether we are a non stock corporation. Patrick asked Michael to check on the
insurance cost for the organization. A
vote was taken and the motion carried.
The
question was raised to give a $100.00 donation to the Boy Scouts. Michael made
a motion and Tony seconded the motion. A
vote was taken and the motion carried.
We were
invited to the Prospect Parade on May 25,2009.
Jean
Guisto researched grocery canvas bags for the park reopening. The large bags are $ 3.09 each and for an
order of $ 150 the cost is only $ 2.99.
The
small bags are $ 2.99. Maureen Meade made a motion that we give the bags away. Bob Perigard
suggested we give them to those people who are paid members. Jean made a motion we purchase the bags and
Ceil seconded the motion. A vote was
taken and the motion carried.
On the
park reopening day we will have a hospitality tent set up. Brick Forms and Membership forms will be
available as well as our photo book for viewing.
Forms
were passed around for those bringing a dish to the last meeting in June as
well as the flower planting volunteer form for June 7th.
The
motion was made by Evelyn to adjourn the meeting and Ceil seconded the motion.
Respectfully Submitted
