Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mike Ptak.

GUEST SPEAKER:  Josh from the Waterbury Neighborhood Council(WNC).

WNC works mostly in the South End. It is in the top 100 most polluted zip codes in the country. There was a garbage trash to power plant near Home Depot. WNC got it stopped. 6 associations have joined have joined in to help fund for clean air for schools in the South End.

Ned asked if the WNC has any political affiliations. Josh didn’t really answer the question.

Bob asked how EMNA would be represented in the council. We would have 3 seats with the President having one. EMNA would have no financial obligation. 17 neighborhoods are represented on the WNC. Meetings are once a month. Quarum is 50% of board members who are qualified to vote. Bob asked where the funding comes from. Chilifest, awards dinner, grants. WNC is starting to take donations. WNC wants to give back to neighborhoods and they feel they are a force to be reckoned with.
