MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Let me first begin by wishing everyone a very
happy, safe, and prosperous New Year.
Congratulations to Stacey Kearney for accepting her
second two year term as Secretary. I look forward to working with her
as well as with Vice President, Turner Langdon, and Treasurer, Evelyn
Carrah. Our names, phone numbers and Email addresses are posted on the
website and you are all encouraged to contact any of us with your
concerns, suggestions, and even complaints. I assure you that all
correspondence will be addressed.
I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to
thank Mike Ptak for the unselfish time and dedication he put forth
serving as our Association President. Mike held this office for eight
of our first ten years as a neighborhood group.
H He led many endeavors, most notably
the construction of our park. Thank you, Mike!
Article I: Section 4 of our by-laws states “The
purpose of the E.M.N.A. shall be to unite neighbors; provide a friendly
social environment; encourage community service activities; create a
non-partisan civic voice, and improve the neighborhood quality of
life.”
I will be calling on many of you to assist the
Association in uniting neighbors through communication, activities, and
monthly meetings. Someone once said that to be successful you should
surround yourself with good people. You are encouraged to become
members and attend our monthly meetings. Our success and strengths are
in our membership. Nothing can be done by a single person or by a small
group of people. If the Neighborhood Association is to prosper it can
only do so through the wholehearted cooperation of every resident
Thank you for entrusting me to lead you over the
next two years. I can promise you I will do my best to merit the
respect earned by past officers that makes the E.M.N.A. stand out in our
city.
Respectfully,
Bob Perigard
