Letter from the President, Patrick Norton I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to thank you for all the support that you have given me as I begin the process of serving in a leadership capacity for the East Mountain Neighborhood Association. As we all know, former President, Michael Ptak, passionately represented our interests in the City of Waterbury, and through the activism of the East Mountain Neighborhood Association we built a reputation within the City of Waterbury for which we can all be proud. There have been numerous accomplishments and milestones during the past seven years since the East Mountain Neighborhood Association was created. I have lived in East Mountain for the past five years, and I genuinely appreciate the sense of community that exists within our neighborhood, a neighborhood that I truly love. During the next two years as I serve as President of the East Mountain Neighborhood Association, I pledge to continue to diligently work to ensure that East Mountain remains a safe and beautiful place to live. In the upcoming year, we will continue to oppose the development of condominiums in the open space off Hamilton Avenue and Route 69. As you may know, we have hired an attorney to represent the interests of the East Mountain Neighborhood Association in the appeals process initiated by the developer. Furthermore, I will work collaboratively with City Officials to ensure that the park renovations are completed so that we can all enjoy the recreational benefits of the park. Lastly, I will work with local law enforcement and the fire department to ensure that any concerns that we may have are voiced so that our community remains a safe and secure one. In closing, I want to thank you again for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, as it will be my pleasure and privilege to continue to represent the interests of the East Mountain Neighborhood Association. I am honored to serve as your President.
